In the United States, the H1NIgous influenza (H1N2) pandemic has forced health officials to step up efforts to detect and contain the pandemic.
This week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new guidelines for flu testing, which require all individuals aged 18 to 65 to have a flu test within 72 hours of arriving in the U.S. or to have their flu test conducted at a licensed health care facility within 72 to 72 hours.
According to the CDC, flu tests can be conducted in the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
These tests can cost between $35 to $100.
The CDC says that all testing should be performed within 24 hours of arrival in the United Kingdom.
According to the Centers, all U.K. residents should get a flu shot by July 1.
