A man accused of shooting and killing his ex-wife in Florida is accused of lying to police about the events that led to her death.
Bryan Allen, 48, was arrested in July and charged with second-degree murder.
Police say Allen told investigators he killed his wife, Michelle Allen, after she broke up with him.
A sheriff’s deputy testified that Allen told him she had a boyfriend at the time of the shooting and that he and his girlfriend were drinking at a party.
Allen has pleaded not guilty.
Allen was arrested last year in St. Petersburg, Fla., and is awaiting trial.
He faces charges including second- and third-degree assault, third- and fourth-degree battery and criminal mischief.
